Sony DADC US Inc. started to manufacture CDs. 1984
Sony DADC Austria A.G. started to manufacture CDs. 1987
Sony established CD process laboratory. 1989
Sony developed CD in-line replication system. 1990
Sony developed MD(Mini Disc) in-line replication system.
Sony launched MDs to the market.

1993 Sony Disc Technology Inc.(SDT) was established by reorganizing disc related R&D functions.
Sony began to manufacture CDs for PlayStation®. 1994
Sony launched DVDs to the market. 1997 SDT developed DVD batch replication system.
Sony launched SACDs to the market. 1999 SDT developed DVD in-line replication system.
Sony began to manufacture DVDs for PS2®. 2000
2001 SDT developed Postscribed ID.
2003 SDT developed SACD hybrid in-line replication system.
Sony launched UMDs(for PSP®) to the market. 2004 SDT developed UMD in-line replication system.
SDT developed PTM.
2005 SDT was renamed Sony Disc & Digital Solutions Inc. (SDAD Inc.) by including business strategy function.
Sony began to manufacture BDs for movies and PS3® in Japan, Austria, and U.S. 2006 SDAD Inc. developed Blu-ray Disc™ in-line replication system and set up the systems in Japan, Austria, and U.S.
Sony began to manufacture BDs in China. 2008 SDAD Inc. set up BD production system in China.
Sony began to manufacture BDs in Australia. 2009 SDAD Inc. set up BD production systems in Australia.
SDAD Inc. developed BD-Live™ server system.
2010 Sony Disc & Digital Solutions Inc. was renamed to Sony DADC Corporation.
